About Nimo

A small studio building useful web software.

Nimo is the independent development practice of Nathaniel Cagle. I build web software for individuals and small service businesses. Booking and client-management tools that customers can configure themselves are the current focus.

Why a small studio

Working independently keeps product decisions close to the design and code. It also makes it easier to keep the software consistent as it changes.

Customers should be able to create an account, configure the service, and get on with their work. I also take a limited number of custom projects when the problem is well defined and an existing product is not a good fit.

Working principles

What matters to me.

01

Easy to use on your own

Most people should be able to get started without a meeting or an email.

02

Clear instructions

You should always know what the software does and what happens next.

03

Help when you need it

Support is available when something breaks or the instructions do not cover your situation.

Technology

Most of my current work uses Laravel, React, TypeScript, and the ordinary machinery of the web. The exact technology is secondary. I care more about choosing tools that fit the project and can be maintained over time.

This site also serves as a workshop. The public tools, games, and live constellation are places to test ideas, share small projects, and improve the systems behind them.
